Interview with the Gould’s After One Year in Buenos Aires

One of the families who walk among the tapestry is from Dover and is living in Buenos Aires for two years. They are just finishing the first year now and I had the chance to interview each of their children on “Living in Buenos Aires”. See what they said here.  (Date:  May 30, 2011)

ANDY: AGE TEN

1)      How do you like living in Buenos Aires?

“I like it a lot because there’s some stuff you can do here that you can’t do at home, like shooting   rockets into the sky.”

2)      Do you miss home?

               Yes

3)      Do you wish you were home?

Well, I would like to spend more time here, but I wouldn’t like to stay forever because I want to see my friends at home.

4)      On a scale from 1-10 how well do you feel you know Spanish?

5)      How long did that take you to learn?

When I was small my mom spoke to me in Spanish, I was here one year, so about all my life, but the time I was focusing on Spanish, I would say about 2 years.

6)      What is your favorite American food?

 

I really really like pizza.

7)      What is your favorite food in Buenos Aires?

Meat. “Vacio” especially. It’s the part of the cow above the waist and below the ribs.

 

8)      What is your favorite Ice cream?

Oreo

9)      What is your favorite subject in school?

Other than gym or recess, math.

 

10)   Do you keep in touch with your friends?

Yes, through Facebook & Gmail.

11)   What do you do in your spare time?

I play with my friends, and I play on my PS3.

12)   On a scale from 1-10, 1 being avoid at all costs, 10 being I want to live here forever, what would you rate Buenos Aires?

13)   What do you want to be when you grow up?

When I grow up I want to be a famous soccer player. My favorite teams are, in order from most to least favorite: Barcelona, Chelsea, Boca.

ELIZABETH: AGE 12

  1. How do you like living in Buenos Aires?

It’s different, but I like it. It’s more convenient. Everything is closer to home. It’s a simpler life.

  1. Do you miss home?

 

Yeah, a lot. I miss my friends.

A couple months.

I really really like “Annie’s Noodles”.

Meat.

French and Chorus

  1. Do you keep in touch with your friends at home?

 

I try to talk to them every day, but usually I talk to them twice a week.

  1. What do you do in your spare time?

Read, sculpt with clay, listen to music.

An actress or a clothing store owner with my sister, or a sculptor for bakeries.

I like it, it’s different.

It’s kind of hard, but I try to.
