We got out of the car and were immediately mobbed by old ladies waving guns around, shouting at us. My mom’s face went stony, and we tried to get away! They chased us until we were forced to stop and take out some money. Then we bought two of the first lady’s water guns and proceeded onward, more or less unhindered. We floated down the river on bamboo rafts ten poles wide, with carefully fire treated ends curving up for the front. Whenever there was a short rapid we would pull our legs up onto our chair.

    

The scenery was beautiful and we all enjoyed the water guns, except one of us. Can you guess who made the first attack, who got squirted in the face, who didn’t like the water guns, who bopped who on the head, and which people contemplated keeping the guns???
