Disney Double Digits

by in Europe, France

We went to Euro Disney for my tenth birthday! It was officially decided a few days ago, and now it is over, it seemed to fly by. When we arrived the first thing we did (after an instruction from the ticket booth lady) was go to the “town hall”. When we arrived my mom told them (in french) that it was my birthday. The man gave me a sticker and brought me into a little room. He got a telephone out and hit call. Then I heard a voice, it was Mickey Mouse! He sang happy birthday to me, thankfully in English. We thanked the man then went to start doing the rides. The first ride was Buzz Light-year. You get in a cart for two and you get a plastic gun. When it is activated it shoots lasers, and you have to try and hit the targets that have a “z” on them. Sometimes the ride stopped, but that was o.k. with everyone because the guns still worked. We did it twice, we liked it so much! After that we went on Space Mountain. I really didn’t want to but my dad said it was his favorite ride, so I tried it. I was tall enough so we got in line. I started to get scared though when I saw that the columns looked like cannons. As we strapped into the rocket my dad told me to make sure I admired “space” because the point of space-mountain is that you’re supposed to feel like you’re in space. I didn’t get a chance to admire it though, because I was focusing on not dying. We did two loop-de-loops and a breath taking rise then drop. I didn’t even think about it on the ride, but after we got off I found that my glasses were still on. I was suddenly very thankful that we got the stay-on-your-ears-even-when-you-are-upside-down-and-screaming kind of glasses. We went on various other rides and got over priced popcorn. Then we saw a show where all the lights get turned off and the props are painted with ultra-violet paint. After all this we finished it off with cotton candy and 4 more rounds of Buzz Light-Year. When there was only 15 minutes left until closing we went on a ride called “it’s a small world after all.” It had moving dolls of everywhere in the world. We were all yelling the names of the places as our boat slowly moved on. When we reached the end, it had all the dolls from all over the world together. It seemed like a fitting last ride for the day and it was.
